Format Converter

Format Converter

Auto-detects the format you paste or drop, converts between 35+ formats — JSON, YAML, XML, TOML, CSV, Excel, .env, plist, Markdown / HTML / LaTeX / Jira tables, MessagePack, CBOR, Base64 and more — chaining through an intermediate format when no direct conversion exists, and generates one-way code (C#, TypeScript, GraphQL SDL, ORM models, migrations) from data or SQL schemas.

Paste or drop JSON, YAML, XML, TOML, CSV, SQL rows, .env, plist, Python/PHP literals, LaTeX / AsciiDoc / Jira / reStructuredText / Markdown / HTML tables, Markdown, HTML, hex, URL-encoded text and more — or an Excel workbook (a sheet is loaded as CSV) or any binary file such as a PDF (encoded to Base64, hex, …). The detected format is a best guess — override it with the dropdown if it's wrong; everything below (targets, code generation) follows the overridden value.

Format Converter

Universal data format converter — auto-detects JSON, YAML, XML, TOML, CSV, TSV, SQL INSERT rows, .env, plist, Python/PHP literals, LaTeX/AsciiDoc/Jira/reStructuredText/Markdown/HTML tables, Markdown, HTML, hex, URL-encoding and more, lets you override the guess, then converts between any of them, chaining through an intermediate format when no direct conversion exists (e.g. TOML → YAML → XML). Drop an Excel/ODS workbook to convert a sheet, or any binary file (PDF, image) to Base64, hex or a data URI. Also generates one-way code from JSON — types in 15+ languages, Joi/Yup/Valibot/Zod/Avro/OpenAPI/Mongoose/Elasticsearch/XSD schemas, Mermaid and Terraform, and HTTP request snippets (curl, fetch, axios, Python, PowerShell) — and from a SQL CREATE TABLE schema: ORM models, migrations, TypeScript/Go/C# types, JSON Schema and an ER diagram.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an Excel file to JSON or CSV?

Drop the .xlsx, .xls or .ods file onto Format Converter, pick the sheet if there are several, and it is loaded as CSV. From there choose JSON, YAML, XML, a Markdown, LaTeX or Jira table, or any other target.

How do I convert a PDF or image to Base64?

Drop the file onto Format Converter. Files that are not text (PDF, images, archives) keep their raw bytes and can be encoded as Base64, URL-safe Base64, a data URI, Base32, Base58, Base85 or hex.

How do I convert TOML to XML?

Paste the TOML into Format Converter and choose XML as the target. If there is no direct conversion, the tool chains through an intermediate format such as YAML automatically.

Does it detect the input format for me?

Yes, it auto-detects the input format as you type and you can pick a format yourself if the guess is wrong. It recognises JSON, YAML, XML, TOML, CSV, .env, plist, Python and PHP literals, several table markups, Markdown, HTML, and hex or URL-encoded text.

Which formats can it convert between?

JSON, JSON5, JSONL, YAML, XML, TOML, CSV/TSV, INI, .properties, .env, plist, Python dict and PHP array literals, tables in Markdown, HTML, LaTeX, AsciiDoc, Jira and reStructuredText, Markdown and HTML documents, MessagePack, CBOR and BSON (as hex), SQL INSERT rows, query strings, and Base64, Base32, Base58, Base85, hex, binary, URL, HTML-entity and Unicode-escape text.

Can it generate code as well as convert data?

Yes, as one-way generation. From JSON: types in many languages (TypeScript, C#, Java, Go, Rust, Python, Kotlin, Swift, Dart, PHP, Ruby, Scala, C++, Elixir, Haskell), validators and schemas (Zod, Joi, Yup, Valibot, JSON Schema, Avro, OpenAPI, Mongoose, Elasticsearch, XSD), GraphQL SDL, SQL DDL, Protobuf, a Mermaid class diagram, a Terraform variable, and HTTP request snippets for curl, fetch, axios, Python, PowerShell, HTTPie and C#. From a SQL CREATE TABLE schema: ORM models, migrations (EF Core, Rails, Laravel, Knex), TypeScript, Go and C# types, JSON Schema and a Mermaid ER diagram.

How do I turn a JSON body into a curl command?

Paste the JSON, choose HTTP request: curl under Generate Code and click Generate. The JSON is embedded as the request body with correct shell quoting; the URL and headers are placeholders you edit. The same works for fetch, axios, Python requests, PowerShell, HTTPie and C# HttpClient.

Is my data uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — your input is processed locally on your device and is never uploaded or stored on a server.
