How do I turn commit messages into a CHANGELOG.md?
Paste conventional commit messages, one per line, and the tool groups them into Breaking Changes, Added, Fixed, Changed, Documentation and Other sections under a version and date heading.
What commit format does it expect?
Conventional Commits, such as feat:, fix:, docs: and refactor: prefixes with an optional scope. Lines containing BREAKING CHANGE go under Breaking Changes, and other prefixes such as chore land in Other.
Does it follow the Keep a Changelog format?
It produces a Keep a Changelog-style section (## [version] - date with Added, Fixed and Changed headings) that you can paste into your file. It generates one release section at a time, not a full file with an Unreleased block.
